Inner clarity for meaningful progress

Awesome Perfectionist is for people who care deeply about doing things well — and are tired of feeling overwhelmed because of it.

Here you’ll find thoughtful writing that help you focus better, do less without guilt, and understand how perfectionism shapes the way you work and think.

Hi, I’m Nala.

I’m a writer and artist. I’ve also been a life-science researcher, a farmer, and a science editor.
In every role I’ve taken on, perfectionism has followed me.

I know what it’s like to want to do things well — and slowly turn that desire into pressure, hesitation, and exhaustion. What starts as a wish to improve can quietly become a way of being hard on yourself.

Over time, I’ve had to look closely at my own thinking to find a way through this. I’m still doing that work.

On this site, I share what I’ve learned from experience, research, and reflection. My aim is simple: to help perfectionists work and grow without turning against themselves. I believe real change begins on the inside — and that clarity, acceptance, and productivity can exist together.
